A "Presidential" Hello!
On October 27, 1980, President Jimmy Carter came to Cleveland to debate
Ronald Reagan on national TV. I was assigned to document his arrival in
downtown Cleveland for the Associated Press. Photographers representing
newspapers from around the world were "jockeying for position"
to capture a photo as he approached his hotel. As he began to raise his
hand and look in my direction, I fired off several shots with my motor driven
camera and caught this moment on film.
