Real Work Horses

"Not to beat a dead horse" with the subject, but horses really are the lifeblood of Mackinac Island, Michigan's transportation system. Because gas powered vehicles are prohibited there, these "beasts of burden" have been the primary means of getting around the island for 300 years!

This photo was taken in August while vacationing in Michigan.
