$350.00 Senior Portrait Scholarships

SpectraLight Photography is pleased to announce the winners of our Senior Portrait Scholarships for the Class of 2010. Alexandra (Alex) Flanigan of North Ridgeville and Rodo Andrade of North Royalton have both been awarded a scholarship for a portrait session and package with a total value of $350.00 each.

We are now accepting applications for the Class of 2011 (See below).

Notes from our recent senior portrait scholarship recipients:

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to have senior pictures. With money being tight, my family doesn't have a lot of money to spend on pictures. Your scholarship is a really nice chance to capture my last year of high school. I liked your ideas and I can tell that you really know what you're doing. I really enjoyed the experience that I would have missed if it weren't for your scholarship :)

Dear Mark,

Thank you for the scholarship that made it possible for my daughter to get beautiful senior pictures! Without this opportunity, we would not have been able to capture this special time in her life.

The pictures are all so beautiful, every pose is better than the next. You even got my daughter to smile, something she rarely does in photos.

I will recommend SpectraLight to my friends and family when their children are ready to take senior pictures. Thanks again!

Dear Mark

Thank you very much for the opportunity you gave my son to have senior pictures. It means a lot to me! He never had photos professionally done, and would be very difficult for me at this point to make it happen. Now he will have memories of one more milestone completed in his life - high school.

God bless you!

Why Does SpectraLight Photography Do This?

Senior portraits are something that most students look forward to and start planning for as early as their freshman year. They wonder which photographer to go to, what they'll wear and what poses they'll do. It is an exciting time that kicks off the most important year of their lives... Senior Year.

For most students it is just a matter of choosing a studio and making an appointment. SpectraLight Photography is aware that some students don't have the opportunity to make that choice. There are a variety of reasons that may keep seniors from having the fantastic portraits they've always dreamed of. So many families are experiencing financial setbacks in today's economy. Owners Mark and Doreen Madere decided to remove that obstacle for two seniors from the Class of 2010. "We feel it is important for every student to have the opportunity to not only have the experience of feeling like a model for a day, but to be able to select a portrait package to share with their family and friends," says Mark Madere.

Attention Class of 2011 - It's Your Turn to Apply

Because of the gratitude we received from this year's scholarship recipients, we have decided to offer three $350.00 scholarships for Class of 2011 high school seniors. The students chosen will receive a portrait session and package with a total value of $350.00 each. To be considered for a scholarship, please submit an application stating why you or the person you are nominating deserves a scholarship. (Request an application, below.) Awards will be based on either financial need or personal circumstances.

A few years ago, a Mom came in to the studio to pick up her daughter's senior pictures. She made a comment that continues to motivate us. She said, "Every girl deserves to feel like a princess for at least one day in her life. You have given my daughter that." The number one goal at SpectraLight Photography is to provide that same experience with every senior we photograph.

Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2010. Recipients will be selected by June 15, 2010.
